Pedestrian Struck, Killed By Car

Florida Highway Patrol reported a man from Palmetto was struck and killed while attempting to cross a road.

The accident happened when the man, 42 year-old Martin Ochoa-Hernandez  of Palmetto Florida tried to cross the 17th Street East at 6:15 Friday evening.

Hernandez was hit by a Mitsubichi  Galant driven by Simone Anderson, 21 from Ellenton. Anderson attempted to avoid running into Hernandez and veered to away but ended up striking him.

Paramedics rushed Hernandez to Manatee Memorial Hospital where he died from his injuries.
