Pickup Rollover Injures 3 Punta Gorda Teens

One teen was critically injured and three others were seriously injured when the pickup truck they were riding in overturned.

Police reported the accident occurred shortly before 2 p.m when Tyler Hartly, the driver of a 2004 Ford Ranger for reasons unknown lost control of the vehicle on Grove, just north of Polk Dr. and swirved off the road causing the pick up truck to rollover several times.

Passenger Sixteen year old Phelisha Doggett  was critically injured and rushed to Charlotte Regional Medical center for treatment.

Tyler Allen a ninteen-year old from Punta Gorda was also injured and taken to Peace River hospital for treatment

Florida Highway Patrol said Doggett was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident though the other teens were not. Alcohol was ruled NOT a factor in the crash.

 

Doggett was wearing a seatbelt while the other two were not, troopers reported. Alcohol was ruled out as a contributing factor.
