Update: To Fatal S.R. 70 Accident

The victim of the fatal crash on SR 70 near Myakka City that killed one and injured three has been identified by the Florida Highway Patrol as 8 year old Sarah Prouix from Bradenton

The girl was mortally injured after the car she was riding in was in a head on collision with an SUV. Police said she was wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash.

Sarah Prouix was taken to Blake Medical Center where doctors pronounced her dead. Serious injuries were also sustained by three other passengers involved in the accident including the driver and passenger of the SUV a Chevy Aspen, Devin Gilmore and Allison Gilmore from Arcadia. Melanie Prouix and Kevin Moore were driving a Chevy Cavalier and both were listed as serious condition at Blake Medical Center.

The cause of the deadly crash is not yet released but FHP has reported that Devin Gilmore lost control of his vehicle and swirved into the other lane directly in front of the oncoming Chevy Cavalier.

Gilmore will face charges of failing to use due care.
