Four With Injuries After Sarasota Crash

Florida Highway Patrol reported a crash at the intersection of Clark and Proctor Wednesday morning with injuries.

The accident involved two vehicles including a pickup truck and a car resulted in four with injuries including on who was severely injured and had to be medivaced by helicopter to an area trauma center.

FHP’s report stated that the collision occurred shortly after 8:15 when a pickup truck westbound on Clark road crashed into a car that had attempted to turn left from Proctor  onto Clark but failed to see the oncoming truck.

FHP released the names of some of those involved in the accident. David Vetter, a 62 year old Port St. Lucie man drove the pickup truck suffered injuries and was taken for treatment at Doctors Hospital. The passenger of the pickup truck, 52 year old Sandra Lyday from Arcadia  suffered injuries and was taken to Blake Medical Center.

The car was driven by 35 year old Jack Habashy from Sarasota and passengers included two young children.

The cleanup and subsequent investigation of the accident blocked traffic at the intersection for more than an hour while crews removed the wrecked vehicles and police investigated the scene. The driver of the car was cited by Troopers for causing the crash.
