Bradenton Man Killed In Motorcycle Accident On Sate Road 70

Florida Highway Patrol announced a motorcyclist was killed in an accident on State Road 70.

The crash took place as twenty six year old Richard Sconyers of Bradenton was riding a motorcycle without a helmet eastbound on State Road 70 approaching 22nd St. Ct. E.

At the same time sixty five year old Russell Omens also from Bradenton, was driving his Toyota Camry westbound on State Road 70 also approaching 22nd St. Ct. E.

Shortly before 6:00 a.m. Omens attempted to turn left onto 22nd St. Ct. E. and drove directly into the path of Sconyers oncoming motorcycle.

Sconyers was killed by the collision. FHP cited Omens for failing to yield to oncoming traffic.
