Sarasota Woman Killed In Motorcycle Crash On SR 70

A report by the Florida Highway Patrol stated a woman has died in a motorcycle accident in Manatee County late Wednesday.

The crash took place as an unidentified woman described by FHP as  twenty years old and from Sarasota, was riding a Suzuki motorcycle eastbound on State Road 70 approaching the intersection with 56th Court East.

At the same time twenty one year old driver Chris Marcelin from Bradenton was stopped in the westbound median turn lane with the motorcyclist approaching from the east.

At approximately 10 P.M. Marcelin attempted to make a U-turn and drove his Infinit sedan directly into the path of the oncoming motorcyclist.

The motorcyclist who had been wearing a helmet collided with the car and was fatally injured in the crash.

Troopers have stated the crash remains under investigation.
