Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol announced a fatal hit and run pedestrian crash on State Road 64.
The crash took place as forty one year old Temple Terrace resident, Clarence Johnson was heading eastbound on foot along the westbound lanes of State Road 64.
At roughly 12am Johnson was approaching Oak Point Drive when he was struck by a full-sized pickup or van. The vehicle was described as possibly being a Ford Superduty Or Ford Van of unknown model or color.
Johnson died at the scene of the crash.

Twenty Four Year Old Eugene Williams was struck by four different vehicles while attempting to cross State Road 70 at roughly 10:30 p.m.
The accident happened when Williams tried to cross S.R. 70 after dark and was hit initially by a vehicle driven by seventy three year old Hildry Grace from Riverview Florida.
After being struck by Grace’s car, Williams was subsequently hit by vehicles driven by twenty five year old Albert Parente from Bradenton, and two other vehicles that fled the scene.
Williams died from his injuries.
Police have stated that alcohol was not a factor in the accident and they have asked anyone with knowledge of the other vehicles involved contact them at 941-751-8350.
St. Petersburg Police announced a 22 year old college student was in a hit-and-run crash.
According to authorities, the deadly crash happened when Andrew Mitchell and twenty-two year old Doneisha Bowens were driving northbound on 34th Street S early Sunday morning.
At the same time the driver of a Chevy pickup, driven by forty nine year old Anthony Brown was driving westbound on 5th Ave. South heading toward the intersection with 34th Street South and approaching a red stoplight.
At just prior to 4a.m. Brown ran the red light as Bowens and Mitchel were proceeding though the intersection having the right-of-way. Brown’s Chevy pick up truck collided with the car Bowens and Mitchel were in at speed.
The two vehicles crashed violently and when Brown’s Chevy came to rest he fled the scene on foot. However he did not get far before St. Petersburg police officers were able to subdue and apprehend Brown taking him into custody.
Bowens was taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg where she was pronounced dead.
After treatment at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg, Brown was release back into police custody where he has been charged with several serious charges including DUI manslaughter, vehicular homicide and battery of a police officer.
Police are actively seeking perpetrators in a deadly hit-and-run incident that took place in Bradenton.
Witness statements have indicated the hit and run happened as an adult male attempted to cross 30th Avenue East near the intersection of 11th Street Court East at roughly quarter after eleven in the morning.
As the man tried to walk across the road, a White Ford Crown Victoria slammed into him. The impact threw the man onto the car where he slid off and fell onto the pavement.
After the impact the full-sized domestic sedan continued on and fled the scene.
The pedestrian died from his injuries and has not yet been identified by authorities.

A crash between a hit-and-run driver and a bicyclist in Bradenton resulted in the death of the bicyclist and police looking for the driver of the vehicle.
Forty five year old Anthony Galanopoulos was riding his bike southbound on the shoulder of 15th Street East in the early hours of Friday when a vehicle pulled off the road onto the shoulder behind him.
After crashing into Galanopoulos on the shoulder, the driver fled the area. Galanopoulos was pronounced dead at the scene and authorities are looking for anyone with knowledge of the incident.
The vehicle was described as possibly a Ford F-150 pickup truck with damage to the right front headlight.

Police in St. Petersburg Florida chased down a hit and run driver that fled the scene of a crash one crash and collided with another vehicle killing two.
The driver of a Porsche SUV was involved in a car crash, then fled the scene. Police stated that while fleeing the scene of the first crash the SUV exceeded speeds of 100 miles per hour. As the driver of the SUV sped away from the first crash they collided with another car. Both the driver and the passenger of the car were killed in the collision.
The driver of the SUV, Anthony Apollo Neeley was charged by St. Petersburg Police with two cases of DUI manslaughter, operating an unregistered vehicle, operating a car without registration, and without insurance.
The names of the deceased will not be released until the families have been notified.
A fatal hit and run death on Oakford Road has Sarasota Sheriffs and Florida State Troopers investigation Sunday.
Police have a suspect in custody and released the following details of the incident.
A man was found dead on Oakford Road in the 200 block. Emergency medical responders were called just prior to 12:45 a.m. Sunday after a call that a man was injured and lying near a residential driveway.
The police said the condition of the man’s body indicates he was struck by a vehicle and described the investigation as a hit and run death. Police are questioning a suspect and they have custody of the suspects vehicle.
The investigation is ongoing.
