Sarasota Woman Killed In Motorcycle Crash On SR 70

A report by the Florida Highway Patrol stated a woman has died in a motorcycle accident in Manatee County late Wednesday.

The crash took place as an unidentified woman described by FHP as  twenty years old and from Sarasota, was riding a Suzuki motorcycle eastbound on State Road 70 approaching the intersection with 56th Court East.

At the same time twenty one year old driver Chris Marcelin from Bradenton was stopped in the westbound median turn lane with the motorcyclist approaching from the east.

At approximately 10 P.M. Marcelin attempted to make a U-turn and drove his Infinit sedan directly into the path of the oncoming motorcyclist.

The motorcyclist who had been wearing a helmet collided with the car and was fatally injured in the crash.

Troopers have stated the crash remains under investigation.

Sarasota Motorcyclist Killed In Crash With Bradenton Motorist

Florida Highway Patrol reported a fatal motorcycle crash on U.S. 41.

The accident happened as Sarasota motorcyclist, forty-one year old Mathew Knight was riding a motorcycle southbound on U.S. 41, approaching the intersection with Bayshore Drive.

At roughly the same time thirty-one year old driver Paul Watkins was eastbound on Bayshore drive approaching the intersection with U.S. 41.

Approximately six minutes after noon, Watkins turned left onto U.S. 41 from Bayshore and directly into the path of the oncoming motorcyclist.

Knight collided with Watkins vehicle and sustained severe injuries. First responders transported Knight to Venice Regional Hospital. Knight later died from his injuries.

Sarasota Motorcyclist Injured In Venice Crash

Florida Highway Patrol reported a crash with injuries Venice Tuesday.

The report stated that thirty-two year old Gene Slivka of Sarasota was riding a motorcycle heading south on Shamrock Drive. At roughly 4:15p.m. Slivka approached the intersection with Ringtail Road. As Slivka closed on the intersection he entered a turn and for reasons unknown lost control of the motorcycle.

Slivka, motorcycle went down onto the road way, and continued to slide on the pavement until it collided with an oncoming van.

Slivka sustained serious injuries in the crash and was flown to Sarasota Memorial Hospital for emergency medical treatment.

The driver of the van, 34 year old Jennifer Quintel from Sarasota was unharmed in the accident.

FHT representatives have stated that an there is an ongoing investigation as to the cause of the crash.

Motorcyclist In Serious Condition After Crash On Singletary Road

FHP reported a motorcycle accident with injuries on Singletary Road.

The single-vehicle accident happened as sixty seven year old Michael Krukowski from Sarasota road west on Singletary Road on his 2013 Harley Davidson motorcycle.

For reasons unknown at roughly 5:15p.m. Krukowski left the roadway and drove into the drainage ditch where he crashed into two palm trees and was thrown from the motorcycle.

Krukowski was seriously injured and taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital for medical treatment.

Bradenton Man Killed In Motorcycle Accident On Sate Road 70

Florida Highway Patrol announced a motorcyclist was killed in an accident on State Road 70.

The crash took place as twenty six year old Richard Sconyers of Bradenton was riding a motorcycle without a helmet eastbound on State Road 70 approaching 22nd St. Ct. E.

At the same time sixty five year old Russell Omens also from Bradenton, was driving his Toyota Camry westbound on State Road 70 also approaching 22nd St. Ct. E.

Shortly before 6:00 a.m. Omens attempted to turn left onto 22nd St. Ct. E. and drove directly into the path of Sconyers oncoming motorcycle.

Sconyers was killed by the collision. FHP cited Omens for failing to yield to oncoming traffic.

Manatee County Motorcycle Accident Kills One

Florida Highway Patrol announced a fatal motorcycle accident Wednesday night in Manatee County.

The accident took place as twenty fiver year old Kristopher Tice from Palmetto was riding his motorcycle south on U.S. 41 heading toward the intersection with 28th Avenue West.

At the same time fifty eight year old Marvin Palacios of Bradenton was driving a Dodge Caravan on 28th Avenue West unaware of the oncoming motorcycle.

As Tice approached at high speed on his Suzuki motorcycle, Palacios attempted to turn onto U.S. 41 and drove directly into the path of the oncoming motorcyclist.

The motorcycle collided with the minivan at speed and Tice was killed in the crash.

Downtown Sarasota Roundabout Crash Kills Motorcyclist

 Police in Sarasota announced a fatal motorcycle accident downtown.

At roughly 1:45 in the morning 27 year old Alaska native motorcyclist Aleksandr was riding a motorcycle eastbound on Main Street and entered the roundabout at Main Street and Orange.

Witnesses stated that  Aleksandr may have been traveling too fast causing him to fail to negotiate the turn. Aleksandr collided with the roundabout and was thrown from his motorcycle. Aleksandr died as a result of his injuries.

Police are investigating if alcohol was a factor in the  crash.

Fatal St. Petersburg Motorcycle Crash Closes 16th Avenue N

St. Petersburg Police reported a fatal crash between a vehicle and a motorcyclist on 16th Street North.

The accident took place near the intersection of 16th Avenue North and 22nd Avenue North at roughly eleven O’Clock in the morning.

16th Avenue North was temporarily closed as Police investigated the accident and crews cleared the roadway.

The motorcyclist who died of injuries sustained in the crash has not yet been identified by authorities.

One Dead In Motorcycle Crash Near Woodland Middle School In North Port

North Port Police Department reported a deadly motorcycle accident Monday just outside Woodland Middle School.

The crash took place as four motorcyclists were riding in the northbound lanes of Panacea boulevard. Shortly after the group passed the school zone in front of Woodland Middle School, two of the motorcycles collided.

Twenty year old Xavier Alonso was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Twenty Three year old Hector Sanchez was also inured in the crash and taken to a local hospital for treatment.

No further details are available at this time.

Motorcycle vs Pick Up Hit-and-Run Injures Rider

A hit and run motorcycle crash involving a pick up truck is being investigated by Police in Tampa.

Authorities have stated that the crash took place close to the intersection of West Sligh Avenue and North Rome Avenue. Just prior to 9:00 p.m. a motorcyclist riding on N Rome Ave. was hit by a pickup truck.

After colliding with  motorcyclist, the driver of the pickup continued down N Rome Avenue fleeing the crash scene.

The motorcyclist was transported to a hospital in Tampa by the fire department.

Tampa Police are investigating the hit-and-run and have asked anyone with knowledge of the crash to call them at 813-931-6500.
