Collision On Bee Ridge Rd Seriously Injures Sarasota Motorcyclist

Paramedics took 28-year-old Bradley R. Williams of Sarasota to Blake Medical Center in Bradenton after being struck by a vehicle.

Around 6 a.m. driver of a  Hyundai, Jennifer Honea, 25 heading west on Bee Ridge Rd. turned into the driveway of McDonalds at 3828 Bee Ridge Road and struck the  Harley Davidson while also turning into McDonalds, from the east bound lanes.

Honea was cited by FHP  for violation of right of way.

Palmetto Motorcyclist Dies From Crash With SUV

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Tuesday April 3rd a motorcyclist from Palmetto Florida was involved in a serious accident in which an SUV in the wrong lanes of U.S. 41 struck his motorcycle.

The Palmetto Florida Motorcyclist, David J. Quackenbush, 28, later died of his injuries, Thursday after being taken to Blake Medical Center in Bradenton.

The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet while following another car on the northbound lanes on U.S. 41 at the 3000 block. The car Quackenbush was following on his Yamaha motorcycle suddenly swerved onto the median to evade an oncoming vehicle heading the wrong way. The driver of the car avoided a collision and was not hurt, but the oncoming SUV struck the motorcyclist head on. The resulting collision threw Mr. Quackenbush from his motorcycle onto the windshield of the SUV and then to the median.

The Florida Highway patrol identified the driver of the SUV as Jesse L. Kates, Jr., of Bradenton (32). Mr. Kates suffered only minor injuries and was cited for careless driving. Alcohol was not involved in crash.

Motorcycle Crash Results In Hit-and-Run Driver Sought By Police

A motorcyclist in west Bradenton was struck by a hit-and-run driver earlier in March

The hit and run accident occurred at the intersection of 26th Street West and 38th Avenue West around 1:45 a.m. The victim, John McKinnon, 27 of Bradenton Florida, suffered serious injuries as a result of the crash.

Mr. McKinnon was injured when he was thrown from his motorcycle after the hit-and-run driver made a left turn on front of him. The Florida Highway Patrol is searching for a older model Oldsmobile with a blue top and white paint. The White Oldsmobile was damaged in it’s right front.
