Wooman Injured In Scooter Accident In Sarasota

A woman from Sarasota was taken to Blake Medical Center in Bradenton for injuries sustained when she lost control of the scooter she was riding.

According to Florida Highway patrol,  Patricia Romig, 24 of Sarasota was traveling north close to Quinto Drive on Cammimare Drive around 3p.m. and lost control of her scooter. Romig failed to negotiate a curve and the scooter collided with the curb and then a tree throwing her of the vehicle.

Scooter Crash Injurs Englewood Man

Florida Highway Patrol reported an Englewood man was in serious medical condition after a scooter accident that happened Saturday

The injured man, Clell D. Colegrove, 84 of Englewood for reasons unknown failed to negotiate a curve and drove off the roadway while heading south down Bayshore Drive near Lemon Ave.

The resulting crash caused Colegrove a head injury and he was later taken to Lee Memorial Hospital.

FHP also noted Mr. Colegrove was wearing a helmet.

Traffic Accident Critically Injurs Sarasota Woman

Rider of a scooter was in critical condition after being struck by a sedan.

FHP reports the accident happened around quarter after 5am when the rider of the scooter (Victoria Mann) traveling north on U.S. 301 was struck from behind on U.S. 301 near Whitfield Avenue. The sedan, a Toyota was driven by Sarasota man, Jubal Gordon, 26.

Also involved a third car traveling behind the Toyota did not stop in time and rear-ended the sedan then fled the scene.

The rider of the scooter was taken to Blake Medical Center in critical condition.

FHP also said the driver of the sedan has been charged with careless driving.

8 Year Old Boy Injured By Hit And Run Driver In Bradenton

Early Tuesday in Bradenton an 8-year old boy was left in serious condition after being struck by a hit-and-run driver.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol the accident occurred around 5:15 p.m. on 4th St. Terrance Gordon was seriously injured from the incident and transported to Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg.

Gordon was struck by a vehicle while heading westbound on 26th Ave. East resulting in the boy being caught in the undercarriage of the vehicle, after which the passenger of the vehicle exited the vehicle and removed Gordon, and his wrecked scooter  from under the car. The passenger and driver, an older women, then sped away from the scene southbound on 3rd Street East.

The vehicle that struck Terrance Gordon was described as an older model maroon Ford with damage to the right front.
