Three injured in SR 64 crash

Florida Highway Patrol reported a crash with injuries on State Road 64 in Manatee County.

The accident happened as fifty four year old Scott Beatty of Sarasota was driving on S.R . 64 and approaching the intersection with Rye Road.

As Beatty closed on the intersection 85 year old Ronald Uden of Parrish was at the intersection on Rye Road. Uden pulled out from Rye Road attempting to make a left turn onto S.R. 64 but failed to yield to the oncoming car being driven by Beatty.

The two vehicles collided and Uden’s car was overturned by the force of the crash.

Both Ronald Uden and his passenger eighty year old Phyllis Uden were critically injured in the crash and was taken to Blake Medical Center for treatment.

Scott Beatty suffered minor injuries in the accident.

Ronald Uden was charged with failing to yield at a stop sign.

I-75 Crash Near SR 64 Leaves Bradenton Man Critically Injured

A report from the Florida Highway Patrol announced a serious crash in the early morning hours on Interstate 75 near the State Road 64 exit has critically injured a man from Bradenton.

The crash took place as thirty five year old David McCarty of Bradenton was southbound on Interstate seventy five in the center lane and north of the SR 64 ramp. At approximately fifteen after one in the morning McCarty tried to change lanes, however McCarty was apparently unaware of another vehicle in his blind spot. As a result McCarty crashed his Chevrolet into a Kia Optima sedan being driven by forty three year old Wimauma resident Tamera Holmes.

The force of the collision caused McCarty’s vehicle to roll over several times resulting in a secondary collision.

McCarty suffered critical injuries and was transported by first responders to Blake Medical Center. Holmes sustained minor injuries and was taken to Lakewood Ranch Medical Center.

Motorcycle Accident On S.R. 64 Serious Injures Myakka Ciy Man

Florida Highway Patrol reported a motorcycle vs car accident on SR 64 Sunday.

The accident happened when Stephen W. Buron a 45 year old form Myakka City was riding eastbound on his 1999 Harley Davidson at 3:30 in the afternoon. A Lexus sedan stopped in the roadway and slowly turned into a driveway.

Buron failed to stop in time and collided with the lexus. Buron suffered serious injuries and was rushed to Blake Medical Center for treatment.

Head-On Collision Kills Two And Injurs Two On State Road 64

Florida Highway Patrol reported a major crash on state road 64 Tuesday evening. The accident resulted in the deaths of Lisa Gunn, 50, from Bradenton and Nadine Hoffman, 56, from Sarasota.

Two others,  Josh Hoffman, a fifteen-year-old and James Hoffman, 58 were seriously injured and flown by helicopter to Blake Medical Center.

FHP stated the accident took place near the intersection of Verna-Bethany Road and SR 64 around 7.pm. Apparently Lisa Gunn lost control of her Mazda sport utility vehicle and crossed into the lane that the Hoffmans were driving in, colliding with their Ford Explorer in a violent head-on crash.

The vehicles struck each other at the right-front corners causing them to spin violently. Fortunately all passengers were wearing seat belts. Florida state troopers are investigating if alcohol was a factor in the accident.
