Hit and Run Kills Pedestrian and Injurs Another
Florida Highway Patrol Announced that a hit an run incident has killed a man from Palmetto and injured a man from Bradenton early Sunday morning.
The report filed from the FHP stated that the incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. when the two men were attempting to cross U.S. 41 when they were struck by a vehicle in the north bound middle lane near the 5100 block .
The victims were identified as Shadeed Wright, 33 of Pametto and Anthony Johnson, 23, of Bradenton. After being struck initially, Wright ended up in the left lane where he was struck several more times by more vehicles. All of the other vehicles left the scene as well.
Wright was pronounced dead at the scene Johnson suffered serious injuries and was taken in critical condition to Blake Medical Center for emergency treatment.
