2 Killed By Hit-And-Run Drivers In Manatee County
A hit-and-run accident killed a pedestrian on 41 in Manatee County. FHP reported that the pedestrian was struck while walking on U.S. 41 in northern Manatee County. Authorities have not yet released the name of the victim.
The accident occurred sometime near 3:30 pm on 41 north of the I-75 junction 85th Street East when a pedestrian walking south on the shoulder of U.S. 41. was struck by a vehicle heading North. The impact knocked the pedestrian into the roadway where they were hit again by a second vehicle. The first vehicle fled the scene and FHP is investigating.

The pedestrian died of their injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Just 24 hours earlier, another pedestrian was killed by a hit-and-run driver near downtown Bradenton on 51st Ave. E. details have not yet been released.
