Head-on Crash On River Road Kills Port Charlotte Man

Florida Highway Patrol announced  a head-on crash on River Rd resulted in the death of a man from Port Charlotte.

The accident occurred when the driver of a 2002 Ford Mustang for reasons unknown drifted into wrong lane and struck oncoming traffic. The Mustang crashed head on with a Dodge Neon with 21 year old Ariel Bryant, from North Port at the driver seat. Bryant only suffered minor injuries and was wearing his seat belt.

However the driver of the Mustang, 33 year old Gerald Tindall, from Port Charlotte was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the accident and was killed by the impact. FHP is investigating in alcohol was a factor in the accident.

A third vehicle was following the Dodge Neon also collided with the Mustang. A minivan driven by 20 year old Brittany Thomas from Port Charlotte was critically injured in the crash and life-lighted to Blake Medical Center. Thomas was wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash.
