Fatal Hit and Run In Sarasota County
A fatal hit and run death on Oakford Road has Sarasota Sheriffs and Florida State Troopers investigation Sunday.
Police have a suspect in custody and released the following details of the incident.
A man was found dead on Oakford Road in the 200 block. Emergency medical responders were called just prior to 12:45 a.m. Sunday after a call that a man was injured and lying near a residential driveway.
The police said the condition of the man’s body indicates he was struck by a vehicle and described the investigation as a hit and run death. Police are questioning a suspect and they have custody of the suspects vehicle.
The investigation is ongoing.
