Multiple Injured From Three Car Crash In Charlotte
Florida Highway Patrol Cited For Failing To Yield Right of Way, an action that led to a three car accident in which several were hurt.
The accident occurred in Charlotte County by Horseshoe Road and S.R. 31 when a man heading north in a 2011 Hyundai swung off the roadway to make a wide U-turn across the highway. The driver, Chitra Victor, a forty four year old man from Ft. Myers drove into the path of a 2000 Lincoln which nearly collided with the Hyundai. However to avoid the collision the driver of the Lincoln was forced to swerve the car causing it to flip over several times.
Additionally another driver 51 year-old Allen Wright from Immokalee, in a 1997 Ford suddenly found himself in the path of Victor attempted to stop before crashing into the Hyundai but there was not enough time, as a result the two cars collided.
The man who allegidly caused the accident was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital where her remains in serious condition. Also taken to Lee Memorial was Victor’s passenger, 75 year old Lily Paul Victor who was reported to be in critical condition. A third passenger in the Hyundai Elsamma Varghese from Ft. Myers was taken to Charlotte Regional Medical Center for Minor Injuries.
The driver of the Lincoln and two passengers in the accident a twelve year old boy and a 16 year old girl sustained minor injuries and were brought to Charlotte Regional Medical Center for treatment. The driver of the Ford was slightly injured but not brought in for treatment..
