Woman From Port Chatlotte Dies In Manatee County Collision

Florida Highway Patrol Reported Saturday that resulted in the death of a Port Charlotte woman, and a man From Parrish Florida in serious medical condition.

The accident occurred on State Road 37 in Manatee County when Jason Dearth, 38 from Parrish was driving north on SR 37 in a F-150 pickup truck. For reasons unknown Death slammed on his brakes and veered into the southbound lanes of SR 37 which placed his Ford pickup directly in the path of Mary Perkins. Perkins, 65 years old from  Port Charlotte, was driving a compact Nissan Versa and collided directly with the F-150.

The accident took place around 4:45 Saturday afternoon. Mary Perkins died at the scene and Jason Dearth was taken to Lakewood Ranch Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries.
