Downtown Sarasota Traffic Snarled By Car Accident
Sarasota Police reported the reason for a large traffic blockage in downtown Sarasota Thursday morning was a car crashed into a palm tree at the start of rush hour near U.S. 41 by the Ritz.
Mysterious circumstances remain however eye witnesses stated that three people got out of the vehicle and fled the scene and reports of a reckless driver at the same time and nearby locations were also noted.
The car crashed into the tree with enough force to partially wrap around the trunk and all airbags were triggered.
The owner of the vehicle was not involved but police stated the car was not listed as stolen and further investigation is pending.
