Motorcycle Crash In Manatee County On U.S. 41 Seriously Injures Rider
Florida Highway Patrol reported a motorcyclist was seriously injured during an accident on U.S. 41 Friday afternoon.
In a common occurrence for motorcycle accidents, the crash happened when the driver of another vehicle attempted to turn left across traffic but failed to see or yield to the oncoming motorcyclist. The other vehicle a 2010 Ford van was being driven by Everett Gresiak a 48-year old from Bradenton attempted toturn left from a driveway at the 6900 block and crossed the path of the 2003 Suzuki motorcycle.
The motorcyclist, Austin Jackson, an 18 year old from Bradenton tried to avoid the crash but collided with the van and was through violently from his bike. The motorcycle carried by momentum from the crash continued to slide up the road way and crashed into a third vehicle , a Dodge pick up truck.
The motorcyclist was taken by paramedics to Blake Medical Center in serious condition.
Troopers reported that Jackson was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. And the driver of the van has been charged with violation of right of way.
