Florida Highway Patrol reported an accident with injuries in Port Charlotte. A man from south Florida was critically injured after he drove into a stopped truck Friday evening.
The accident happened when Woodrow Hough was driving east on county road 74 towards the intersection with Bronco Road and rapidly approached a truck that was stopped at the intersection.
Hough apparently did not see the stopped truck in time and was unable to avoid crashing into the rear of the truck. The resulting collision seriously injured Hough and he was flown to Lee Memorial Hospital.
The driver of the stopped truck, Daryl Scott was waiting for for traffic to pass when the 2007 International was struck from behind by the Ford F-150 driven by Hough. Scott was unharmed in the crash and FHP stated as of yet no charges have been filed however the crash is still under investigation.
