Car vs Bicycle Accident In Sarasota on Bee Ridge Fatal For Bicyclist
FHP reported that a bicyclist on Bee Ridge Road in Sarasota was killed late Monday from being struck by a vehicle.
Troopers stated that the victim, Walter Campbell, a 44 year old from Sarasota, died at the scene.
Police disclosed the following details of the accident; at around 9:30 at night, a driver heading down the eastbound lane of Bee Ridge east of the highway did not see Campbell lying in the road and ran him over, fatally injuring him.
For reasons unknown Campbell was apparently lying in the roadway close to his bicycle in the dark.
