Pedestrian Walks In Front Of Motorcyclist Seriously Injured
A pedestrian vs motorcycle accident occurred in Nokomis Tuesday night when Paul Grudzina a 61 year old man from Nokomis attempted to cross U.S. 41.
FHP reported that the accident took place just before nine in the evening when Grudzina attempted to get to the west side of the southbound lanes by walking across Tamiami Trail near the intersection of Avenida de la Isla. Grudzina, failed to see the oncoming Harley Davidson being ridden by a man from Sarasota also in his sixties.
The motorcyclist attempted to avoid crashing into the pedestrian by veering to the side. Grudzina was struck by the side of the motorcycle and sustained serious injuries.
First responders took Grudzina to Venice Regional Medical Center for treatment and the motorcyclist was not injured in the collision.
FHP also said no charges have been filed.
