Hit-and-Run In Sarasota Injures Pedestrian
An unidentified vehicle struck and injured a pedestrian Saturday then fled the accident scene.
FHP reported that the vehicle struck and seriously injured David Cornell a twenty year old from Sarasota who was on the sidewalk on Bee Ridge road near Center Gate blvd. The vehicle which remains unidentified drove up onto the sidewalk and smashed into Cornell severely injuring him, and throwing him to the ground at roughly five in the morning.
After striking Cornell, the vehicle sped off to the east away from the injured pedestrian.
First responders rushed Cornell to Sarasota Memorial for treatment of serious injuries.
Florida Highway Patrol Trooper Hupchick has asked anyone who knows of the incident to call him at (239) 938-1800.
