Hit-and-Run Seriously Injures Venice Motorcyclist
Florida Highway patrol reported a hit an run crash that occurred Saturday night just before midnight resulted in a woman from Venice suffering serious injuries.
The crash happened when motorcyclist Connie Davis a 51 year old woman from Venice was heading north on Tamiami Trail and closing on the intersection with Rubens Drive. The driver of a Lincoln Continental in the intersection ran a stop sign and failed to see Davis approaching. The Lincoln pulled directly into the path of Davis and the force of the collision threw Davis from her Honda motorcycle onto the roadway.
The crash seriously injured Davis and she was taken to Venice Regional Medical Center for emergency treatment.
Florida Highway Patrol has asked that any witnesses or those with knowledge of the crash contact Troopers at 239-938-1800.
