Manager Of The Venice Yacht Club Dies In Motorcycle Crash
Florida Highway patrol reported David P. Yarzab, manager of the Venice Yacht Club died from injuries sustained in a motorcycle vs mini-van crash Wednesday.
The accident occurred when driver of a Chrysler Town & Country, Polley Lawrencethe an 85 year old from Sarasota, pulled out of the driveway at the Waterfrontoo Grille & Steakhouse onto Tamiami Trail but failed to yieild to oncoming traffic. At the same time David Yarzab, the General manager of the Venice Yacht Club was heading south on Tamiami Trail on his Harley-Davidson.
At roughly 5:30 p.m. with no time to react to the Town & Country that pulled onto the road, Yarzab collided with the driver’s side of the mini-van.
Yarzab, who was wearing a helmet during the accident, survived the initial collision but sustained sever injuries, was taken by paramedics to Sarasota Memorial Hospital. Despite surviving the initial crash doctors were unable to save him and he died at the hospital.
Both the passenger, 79 year old Hazel Alberts of Sarasota, and the driver Polley Lawrence, 85 also of Sarasota were uninjured during the crash.
Lawrence was cited by the FHP for failing to yield right of way.
