Englewood Crash Seriously Injures Man From North Port

Florida Highway Patrol stated a crash between a pick up truck and a parked car that has resulted in a man from North Port suffering serious injuries.

The accident took place Thursday near the intersection of Birchwood street and Prospect when Robert Jackson, a 55 year old from north Port was driving east on Prospect. The pickup truck Jackson was driving veered to the right suddenly, Jackson turned the wheel sharply to the left to steer back on the road but caused the pickup truck to loose control and run off the road on the left side.

The sharp change in direction contributed to the Ford pickup overturning and rotating in mid air. The truck landed on it’s wheels but crashed into a parked car.

FHP troopers said that Jackson was not wearing his seat belt during the accident, and as a result was seriously injured during the crash and was flown to Lee Memorial Hospital reported to be in critical condition.
