Sarasota Crash On 41 Injures Six, Two Seriously
Florida Highway Patrol announced a traffic accident on U.S. 41 in Sarasota that has resulted in six people suffering injuries Friday night.
According to the FHP the crash happened at roughly 8:30p.m. at the intersection of Gulf Avenue and 41 Friday evening when sixteen year old girl from Venice was heading north in a 2004 Chrysler Sebring on U.S. 41 when a Lincoln MKZ driven by 68 year old Pamela Monk, 68 entered the intersection from Gulf Avenue directly in front of the oncoming Chrysler.
The young driver attempted to avoid the collision by steering away from car but crashed into the car on the left side.
Both the driver of the Chrysler and her passenger, 37 year old Lorie Holmes suffered minor injuries and were brought to Venice memorial Hospital for treatment.
The driver of the Lincoln, Pamela Monk and one of the passengers, Albert Deslippe 79 also from Canada were seriously injured during the crash and taken for medical treatment to Sarasota Memorial Hospital. Additionally two other passengers in the Lincoln MKZ, were also taken for treatment at Venice Memorial for treatment of minor injures.
The driver of the Lincoln was given a citation for failing to yield right-of-way.
