Van Crashes Into Utility Pole In Osprey Killing Driver
Sarasota Police said a man was killed Saturday when the van he was driving crashed into a utility pole.
The accident occurred when Joseph Nauman a 51 year old from Fort Myers was driving north on U.S. 41 in Osprey shortly after 10a.m. Saturday morning. As the van traveled north in the right-hand lane it swerved off the road and collided with the utility pole at speed.
A witness of the crash told authorities that the driver of the man was suffering a heart attack which caused the crash, however this claim has not been verified.
The driver of the van, 51 year old Joseph Nauman from Ft. Myers died at the scene of the crash.
The force of the collision broke the utility pole and disrupted cable service for residents in Osprey for several hours.
