Bicyclist In Bradenton Injured In Crash
An accident in Bradenton left a bicyclist injured on State Road 70.
Authorities in Bradenton reported the crash happened shortly after 10 p.m. when Jeffrey Thomson a fifty four year old from Bradenton was riding his bicycle east on State Road 70 inside the center lane.
As Thompson approached 18th Street Court East a driver in a Honda Accord was also approaching from the east. Authorities stated that for reasons unknown Thompson swerved into the path of the oncoming Honda and was struck by the car.
Thompson was hit by the right front of the car and sustained serious injuries and was taken to Blake Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.
Florida Highway Patrol cited Thompson for not riding to the far right. The driver of the Honda Accord was nor injured in the accident.
