Head On Crash in Sarasota Critically Injures Man From Bradenton

A head-on collision between a Hyundai Coup and a Ford F-150 pickup truck has left a man in critical condition.

Florida Highway Patrol stated the crash happened Sunday evening after 8:30 east of the Bobby Jones Golf Club in Sarasota. Jacob Miller, a 19 year old from Bradenton, was driving north on Richardson Way in a Hyundai Tiburon approaching a sweeping curve in the road. Miller did not negotiate the turn, swerved out of his lane and into the path of the oncoming F-150 driven by John Carlson, 21, of Sarasota. The two vehicles collided head-on.

Both Miller and passenger McKenzie Peterson,  were wearing seat belts and suffered non-life threatening injuries. However a second passenger who was not wearing a seat belt and identified only as a 21 year old male, was in critical condition and flown to Blake Medical Center in Bradenton.

The driver of the pick up truck, John Carlson, 21 from Sarasota and passenger Hallie Matthews twenty years of age also from Sarasota, were both wearing seat belts and did not suffer life-threatening injuries.
