Motorcyclist From Palmetto Dies On Manatee County Roads

FHP stated a motorcyclist from Palmetto died after crashing his 2013 Harley Davidson on U.S. 41.

The accident took place when Charles Washington, Sr. traveled north on U.S. 41 in Palmetto after 6p.m. in the fast lane approaching the intersection with 39th Street.

For reasons yet to be determined as he attempted to pass traffic he lost control of his motorcycle crashed into a street sign and collided with a guard rail.

Troopers stated that Washington was not wearing a helmet during the time of the crash. Washington was taken to Manatee Memorial Hospital for treatment where he died from his injuries.
