Manatee County Hit and Run Seriously Injures One

Florida Highway Patrol arrested a man after a hit and run crash in Manatee County. The man, identified as 32 year old Luis Luna-Castillo from Bradenton has been accused of leaving the scene of a crash with injuries.

The Crash took place Sunday night when Rosemarie Cooper, a 68 year old from Bradenton was driving south in Ford Escort on 50th Avenue West when just prior to 9:30p.m. Luna-Castillo, who was driving in the northbound lanes in a Dodge Durango, swerved into the path of Cooper where the two vehicles crashed head-on.

While both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, Cooper was seriously injured by the collision.

Luna-Castillo ran from the crash site and attempted to hide from authorities but was found by Florida Highway Patrol troopers.

First responders too Cooper to Blake Medical Center in Bradenton for treatment of serious injures.
