Florida Highway Patrol reported a motorcycle accident with injuries that took place Thursday evening on Clark Road in Sarasota.
The Crash happened as what was a described as a small brown colored car traveling west on Clark road made a sudden left-hand turn onto Colonial Drive. Apparently the driver of the car did not see the oncoming motorcycle and turned directly into the riders path.
Motorcyclist Carlos Vasconelos, a 49 year-old from Sarasota was riding his Suzuki motorcycle east on Clark and was approaching the intersection with Colonial Drive when the compact car turned in front of him.
Vasconelos turned sharply, avoiding crashing into the car but hit a curb in the process and was thrown from the motorcycle.
Vasconelos suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital for treatment. FHP has charged Vasconelos with not having the motorcycle endorsement and are attempting to locate the driver of the compact car.
