Venice Car Accident Kills Pedestrian

Florida Highway Patrol reported a fatal accident involving a pedestrian and a minivan Friday Night.

The crash took place when Kennith Kubic a 75 year old from Venice was driving his 2010 Dodge Caravan on U.S. 41 approaching the intersection with Sunset Beach Drive.

As Kubic headed down Tamiami Trail, 61 year old pedestrian Leonard Gebhardt was trying to cross U.S. 41.

Gebhardt was struck by the minivan at speed. Police stated Gebhardt was killed by the impact and died at the scene. Police continue to investigate the crash.
