Hit-and-Run Driver Kills Bicyclist On 15th Street East In Bradenton
A crash between a hit-and-run driver and a bicyclist in Bradenton resulted in the death of the bicyclist and police looking for the driver of the vehicle.
Forty five year old Anthony Galanopoulos was riding his bike southbound on the shoulder of 15th Street East in the early hours of Friday when a vehicle pulled off the road onto the shoulder behind him.
After crashing into Galanopoulos on the shoulder, the driver fled the area. Galanopoulos was pronounced dead at the scene and authorities are looking for anyone with knowledge of the incident.
The vehicle was described as possibly a Ford F-150 pickup truck with damage to the right front headlight.
Anyone who knows of the crash should call Florida Highway Patrol at (239) 938-1800 to aid in the investigation.
