One Killed, One Critically Injured In Clark Road Motorcycle Crash
Florida Highway Patrol announced a motorcyclist riding down Clark Road was killed after a collision with a Mercedes Sunday.
The fatal accident took place when Jacques Verreault a 68-year-old Canadian from Isle Aux Coudres, Quebec riding a 2011 Harley-Davidson was riding east on Clark road with a female passenger approaching the Proctor Road intersection.
Robert Escavich a 70 year old from Sarasota, was driving south on Proctor Road and failt to stop at the Clark Road intersection. Escavich driving his Mercedes GL450 drove directly in front of the oncoming motorcyclist and the two vehicles collided in the intersection at speed.
Verreault, the driver of the Harley-Davidson was brought to Doctors Hospital in Sarasota but succumbed to his injuries and died.
The passenger a woman also from Isle Aux Coudres, Quebec, survived the crash and was taken to Blake Medical Center in Bradenton where she remains in critical condition.
FHP stated charges are pending for Escavich.
