Crash In Charlotte County Injures Three
A crash on McCall road in near Port Charlotte resulted in three being injured.
The accident took place shortly before 7:00am when Jill Castagna a sixty nine year old from Port Charlotte was driving west on McCall Road approaching Gillot Blvd as eighty five year old Genevieve Seman from Englewood was headed east and already in the left turn lane at Gillot Blvd.
Seman attempted to turn left at the intersection as Castagna approached and the front of the two vehicles collided in the intersection.
The resulting force of the impact spun the vehicle Seman was driving around where it finally came to rest in a ditch.
Seman was critically injured and taken by helicopter to Lee Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte. Jill Castagna and seventy one Alfonso Castagna where seriously injured in the crash and taken to Englewood hospital with serious injuries.
Florida Highway Patrol stated that charges were pending in the accident.
