Bradenton Woman Killed, 3 Children Injured In Manatee County Crash
An accident between a Dodge Ram full-sized van and a Chevy Suburban SUV resulted in one dead and three children injured in a crash Friday afternoon.
FHP troopers stated that the crash took place when the driver of the Dodge van, Nancy Spurlock a forty-six year old from Bradenton headed south on U.S. 19 in the fast lane.
In the northbound lanes of U.S. 19 fifty one year old Barbara J. Carvis of Pinellas Park was driving her Chevy Suburban. Spurlock, the driver of the van lost control of the vehicle and for reasons unknown drove across the median directly into the path of the oncoming Suburban SUV.
The force of the collision between the two full-sized vehicles was fatal for Carvis who died at the scene. Three small children passengers in the Suburban all sustained serious injuries and were taken two All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg.
Spurlock, the driver of the van was transported to Manatee Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.
Florida Highway Patrol said charges are pending.
