Englewood Man Seriously Hurt In Sarasota I-75 Crash

Officials from Florida Highway Patrol have said a man from Englewood allegedly ran a red light near the exit ramp of I-75 and Fruitville road causing an accident with serious injuries..

The crash took places just prior to 8:30 p.m. when thirty five year old Egor Klimantovich was driving eastbound on Fruitville Road in Sarasota.

As Klimantovich approached the intersection with interstate seventy five ramp traffic, witnesses stated he failed to stop when the light turned red.

When the drivers of two vehicles exiting I-75 were given the green light to turn onto Fruitville they proceeded unaware of the oncoming vehicle.

As the vehicles entered the intersection attempting to turn onto the westbound lanes Klimantovich’s vehicle slammed into the first vehicle at speed which in turn, crashed into the second vehicle attempting to turn onto Fruitville.

Klimantovich suffered serious injuries in the crash and was airlifted to Blake Medical Center in Bradenton. The driver of the first car hit by Klimantovich was taken to Doctors Hospital in Sarasota with minor injuries.

Troopers have stated they will be charging Klimantovich with no proof of insurance and failing to stop at a red light.
