Crash On Gulf-to-Bay Injures Clearwater Police Officer

A crash involving a Clearwater Police officer injured three Sunday. The accident happened when Officer Steven Venezia was heading eastbound on Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard early Sunday morning responding to a call for back up.

As Venezia entered the 2800 block of Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard a car in front unexpectedly changed lanes directly into the path of Officer Venezia’s cruiser.

The two vehicles crashed into each other at speed resulting occupants from both cars suffering injuries.

Officer Venezia was taken to Bayfront Health in St. Petersburg for medical treatement  and was discharged later that same day.

The driver and two passengers from the other vehicle were also injured and received medical treatment at St. Joseph’s Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
