Three Injured By Crash On U.S. 41 In Manatee County – Charges Pending
A crash on U.S. 41 in Manatee County has injured multiple people and resulted in pending charges of driving under the influence.
Florida Highway Patrol responded to a crash that took place at roughly 6:45p.m. Saturday on U.S. 41 near the intersection of Pearl Avenue when Martin Fay, a 33 year-old from Bradenton tried to turn left from a driveway onto U.S. 41.
Fay drove his Dodge Journey SUV directly into the path on an oncoming Ford Expedition driven by 29 year old Nicholas Colangelo also from Bradenton.
The two SUVs crashed as Fay entered the northbound lanes. Fay was taken by Paramedics to Blake Medical Center for medical treatment of serious injuries, Fay’s passenger, and 8-year Kailey Fay, was also seriously injured in the crash. The young girl was taken to Tampa General for treatment of her in juries. Melissa Fay, 32 from Bradenton and also a passenger in the Dodge SUV was taken to Blake Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.
Colangelo, the driver of the Ford Expedition, was not injured in the crash.
Florida Highway Patrol released that Fay will be charged with failing to yield right of way and that Colangelo would be charged with driving under the influence.
