Englewood Motorcycle Crash Leaves Rider In Critical Condition

A motorcyclist was in critical condition after a collision with a minivan in Englewood.

Authorities stated that at roughly nine fifty in the morning, the rider of a 1986 Honda motorcycle was stopped in the southbound lanes at the intersection of North Indiana Avenue and East Dearborn Street waiting in the left turn lane during a green light.

As a Chrysler Town and Country minivan approached from the southbound lanes the motorcycles attempted to turn left,failing to yield to the oncoming minivan.

The two vehicles crashed in the intersection. The rider of the Honda, only identified as a 59 year old male, was not wearing a helmet and was thrown from the motorcycle where he was critically injured. First responders transported the motorcyclist to Blake Memorial Hospital in Bradenton. The driver of the Chrysler was not harmed in the crash.
