Pedestrian Accident In Clearwater Injures Two
Clearwater Police announced that two pedestrians where injured after being struck by a compact SUV Thursday.
The accident took place at roughly five thirty in the morning as forty year-old Washington D.C. native Elizabeth Sandridge attempted to cross Gulf-to-Bay blvd at the intersection with Meadowlark Lane and was struck by an oncoming Mitsubishi Outlander crossover SUV.
Another pedestrian, forty one year old David Schroder from Wilmington North Carolina attempted to get Sandridge to safety but was also hit by the vehicle in the process.
Schroder was brought to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Riverview for medical treatment and Sandridge was taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg for her injuries.
Police declined to cite the driver of the Mitsubishi sixty-seven year old Jeffrey Moore with failing to yield right of way due to the fact that both pedestrians were not using a crosswalk.
