Hit-run On U.S. 41 Leaves Two Hurt In Manatee County

Florida highway patrol announced a hit and run accident with injuries on U.S. 41 in Bradenton.

The crash took place when twenty-seven year old Santier Gibson of Bradenton was driving his Lincoln Navigator south on U.S. 41 approaching the intersection with 49th Avenue Drive West.

At fifteen minutes before 10:00 p.m. the full sized Lincoln Navigator SUV was slammed into by a Honda CRV compact SUV. The Honda, which had for reasons unknown lost control, crashed into the right front of the Lincoln and careened off the heavier vehicle sending the CRV spinning into traffic in the northbound lanes. At the same time a Nissan Altima heading north on U.S. 41, was struck by the Honda CRV as it spun into the northbound lanes.

Despite having sustained serious damage the Honda CRV was able to fee the site of the crash.

The crash left Gibson, the driver of the Lincoln seriously injured and he was taken to Blake Medical Center for treatment. The driver of the Altima, 24 year old Eduardo Lopez of Sarasota,  sustained minor injuries and was taken to Manatee Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Florida Highway Patrol has asked anyone with knowledge of the crash to contact them at 941-751-7647.
