I-75 Crash Near SR 64 Leaves Bradenton Man Critically Injured

A report from the Florida Highway Patrol announced a serious crash in the early morning hours on Interstate 75 near the State Road 64 exit has critically injured a man from Bradenton.

The crash took place as thirty five year old David McCarty of Bradenton was southbound on Interstate seventy five in the center lane and north of the SR 64 ramp. At approximately fifteen after one in the morning McCarty tried to change lanes, however McCarty was apparently unaware of another vehicle in his blind spot. As a result McCarty crashed his Chevrolet into a Kia Optima sedan being driven by forty three year old Wimauma resident Tamera Holmes.

The force of the collision caused McCarty’s vehicle to roll over several times resulting in a secondary collision.

McCarty suffered critical injuries and was transported by first responders to Blake Medical Center. Holmes sustained minor injuries and was taken to Lakewood Ranch Medical Center.
