State Road 70 Crash Kills Bradenton Scooter Rider
FHP reported a man riding a scooter on State Road 70 was killed after being struck buy another vehicle.
The fatal crash took place when forty one year old Lance Hadden of Bradenton was heading east on State Road 70 Sunday evening.
As Hadden approached the intersection with I-75 from the right lane eighteen year old Zacchaeus Wiedeman from Bradenton was driving a Jeep Liberty in the center lane of State Road 70 adjacent to Hadden.
Wiedeman attempted to change lanes, driving into the right lane where he crashed into the back of Hadden’s scooter.
The force of the collision threw Hadden from the scooter onto the roadway where he sustained life-threatening injuries.
Hadden was taken to Lakewood Ranch Medical Center, however medical staff were unable to save him and he succumbed to his injuries.
Wiedeman, the driver of the Jeep Liberty has been charged with careless driving.
