Seven Students Injured In Englewood School Bus Accident
Seven students and a driver suffered minor injuries after the school bus they were in was in a multi-vehicle accident involving two pick up trucks.
The crash happened at the intersection of Bantry Boulevard and Cedar Road shortly after 7a.m. when eighteen year old, Brandon Blumberg driving a pickup truck rear ended the school bus. After colliding with the back of the school bus Blumberg was then struck by an other pick up truck driven by forty-three year old Christopher Weir from Placidia.
The driver of the school bus, sixty-four year old Barbara Kirkpatrich from Englewood, sustained minor injuries in the accident.
Seven students on board the bus also receive injures described as ‘very minor’. The driver of the first pick up, Brandon Blumberg suffered minor injuries, as well as both the driver and passenger of the second pick up, Christopher Weir and 16 year old Mikaylah Chafins.
All of the injured parties were taken to Englewood Hospital for Treatment.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers stated Blumberg will be charged with careless driving.
