Sarasota Motorcyclist Injured In Venice Crash
Florida Highway Patrol reported a crash with injuries Venice Tuesday.
The report stated that thirty-two year old Gene Slivka of Sarasota was riding a motorcycle heading south on Shamrock Drive. At roughly 4:15p.m. Slivka approached the intersection with Ringtail Road. As Slivka closed on the intersection he entered a turn and for reasons unknown lost control of the motorcycle.
Slivka, motorcycle went down onto the road way, and continued to slide on the pavement until it collided with an oncoming van.
Slivka sustained serious injuries in the crash and was flown to Sarasota Memorial Hospital for emergency medical treatment.
The driver of the van, 34 year old Jennifer Quintel from Sarasota was unharmed in the accident.
FHT representatives have stated that an there is an ongoing investigation as to the cause of the crash.
