The crash occurred at approximately fifteen minutes before six O’clock in the evening as forty-three year old Richard Torrington drove his Hyundai Genesis northbound on McIntosh Road in Sarasota.
At the same time twenty year old Clarence Johnson and his passenger two-year old Nevaeh Ramos were southbound in a Chevy Malibu. As the two vehicles neared one another Torrington swerved out of his lane and collided with Johnson hitting the car in the left-hand side of the front.
The force of the collision caused Johnson’s Chevy to be forced off the road where is crashed into a utility pole and came to a stop.
Two-year old Ramos was seriously injured in the crash and airlifted to All Children’s for emergency treatment. Johnson was also seriously injured in the crash and taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital.
