Single-Car Crash Near Osprey Injures Venice Man
A Florida Highway Patrol report announced a single car crash near Osprey FL on state road 681.
The report states that at nearly seven thirty a.m. seventy year old Gregory Vahle was northbound on state road 681 heading from Nokomis toward the I-75 interchange in an Audi A5 sedan.
For reasons unknown Vahle turned suddenly to the right then over-corrected turning back toward the left causing the car to veer out of control as Vahle approached the intersection with En Theos lane.
The Audi sedan still traveling at speed, drove off the road and collided with a traffic light then crashed into a control box coming to a stop.
Officials from the FHP have stated the crash is still being investigated and have asked anyone with knowledge of the crash to contact them at 1-239-938-1800.
